Volunteer Opportunity: Programs Co-Chair

This will be my second year as a Programs Chair and it has been a great two years! However, I am looking for another person to help out. Since the Midwest is such a big chapter, there would be great benefits with two people planning and organizing events for our members. Adding a co-chair would provide us a better chance to reach more members across the chapter as well as publicize more efficiently. Hopefully, we can even attract more new members!

If you are interested, contact me (mary [AT] springleafpress.com) or our Midwest Chapter Chair, Laurie Ketcham-Schrick (midwest [AT] guildofbookworkers.org) for more information.

Announcement: a Midwest Traveling Set-Book Exhibit!

We mentioned at last year’s annual meeting that there will be an opportunity to be a part of a Midwest traveling exhibit. This will be a juried set book exhibit using Julia Miller’s “Books Will Speak Plain.” There is still much to be decided, but details for entry will be available soon.

Since the book came out some time ago, the copies that are in sheets are limited. However, if you know you want to submit an entry, you can buy them at Hollander’s. (under “Bookbinding Supplies,” then “Text Blocks”) or rebind a bound copy.

Stay tuned to the Midwest website and your inboxes. I think it will be a great show!
